It Happened: Mario Kart Just Got Cooler

It Happened: Mario Kart Just Got Cooler

Downloadable content is pretty much a given with nearly every game that releases, so it comes to no one's surprise that Mario Kart 8 has sported its own season pass. The nice thing about this season pass is that it is only $12 and it comes with a decent amount of content. Releasing in two packs, people who purchase the season pass will get a total of:
  • 16 tracks
  • 8 Cars
  • 6 characters
Pop and I obviously got the season pass and the first pack does not disappoint because it includes our most favorite character, Link. In line with the Zelda theme, there is a Hyrule Cup Grand Prix, which has a pretty epic track.

Check out the first two races in the Hyrule Cup as we play through the first pack of the DLC and make sure to stay tuned for the rest! Look below to connect with us via social media and as always, feel free to suggest some titles folks!

Arcade Block - October 2014

This month’s Arcade Block wasn’t the greatest, but still pretty cool. From Mario to Street Fighter to Half-Life, this block has it.

Here we go!

1. Portal Key Cap

2. Notes from  Hyrule magnetic whiteboards

3. Mario Kart Pull Back Racer

4. Street Fighter themed Pixel Bricks

5. T-Shirt of the Month - Freeman’s Crab Shack

6. Arcade Certified Product of the Month - Plush Flying Squirrel Mario or Luigi

He looks so angry.

Sorry for the short review. Hopefully next month’s block is better. This was definitely not worth the $30 this month.

Nerd Block October 2014

This month’s Nerd Block has been by far the best one that I’ve had. Nerd Block is a monthly subscription box service similar to Loot Crate and Booty Bin. Nerd Block offers several options at different prices: Classic (your everyday nerd assortments), Arcade (video game themed), Horror (horror themed, duh), and Junior (Boys or Girls, the kids stuff). They range from $13.99-$19.99 per month plus shipping and handling, they come from Canada so it’s another $6-$10 for shipping.

Now to the unboxing.

This month was hand picked by none other than Kevin Smith! Yes, you heard that right Lunchbox, the Kevin Smith! So, you can assume that it will be awesome and have Kevin Smith treasures inside.

1. Legend of Zelda dangler from TOMY
2. Marvel vs. DC button set (Marvel is the best, duh)
3. Arkham Asylam Sticky Note book (Assorted colors and sizes)
4. Jay and Silent Bob stickers (different themes)
5. Agent Coulson’s Captain America Trading Cards Replica Set from EFX Collectibles

6. Previews Exclusive Deadpool POP figure from FUNKO

7.Jay and Silent Bob dressed as Batman and Robin T-Shirt

As you can see this month was truly amazing. Next month is going to be picked by cult film legend Bruce Campbell and 1 out of every block will feature a Bruce Campbell autograph. It will also feature an exclusive Boba Fett item which I am truly excited for if you can’t tell. Get your subscription today so you don’t miss out on these great items!

I should be getting my Arcade Block soon so look forward to that review in the coming weeks.

Until next time, May the Force Be With You!

Team Koei and Nintendo Had a Baby: Hyrule Warriors

Team Koei and Nintendo Had a Baby: Hyrule Warriors

Team Koei and Nintendo Had a Baby: Hyrule Warriors

If you haven't already heard of Mom 'N Pop Co-Op, let me (Mom) give you some background. My husband (Pop) and I decided to formulate a YouTube gaming channel in order to represent the fun a couple can still achieve outside of the demanding lives of parenthood. We know that as gamers, it is essential to enjoy our free time with premium gaming, as well as talk about "adult" things.

We play through popular titles while discussing our every day life including our adventure through parenthood. Some of our current playlists include Super Mario 3D World and Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition, but there are a few more.

We post daily videos, but weekly I will generally provide highlights through New Geek Protocol.

This week we started our journey through Hyrule Warriors, which is a perfect marriage between the Zelda and Dynasty Warriors franchises. I kid you not, it is like Lu Bu and Zelda procreated. Here is the first entry into this series.

Stay tuned to our channel for more awesomeness, and don't forget to subscribe!
Also, please make suggestions for games you would like to see us play in the comments below, if something tickles our fancy, we will appease you the best we can!
