Spider-Man Faces His 'Original Sin'

Spider-Man Faces His 'Original Sin'

Over the past two years, Peter Parker has faced the trials and tribulations of playing second fiddle to one of his greatest adversaries, Doctor Octopus. After swapping his brain into Peter's body, Octavius set out to prove his superiority over Parker by proclaiming himself (and launching the single most ordered comic in the last decade) The Superior Spider-Man.

Throughout the course of his tenure, Doc Ock managed to complete Peter's PhD as well as create and launch his own corporation, 'Parker Industries' (both of which were considered superior to anything Octavius believed Parker could ever accomplish). However, in turn, ruined Spider-Man's relationship with Black Cat, defaced his Avengers membership and broke the cardinal rule after publicly executing escaped killer, Massacre. I'm time, and in the name of love for a woman Otto feared he could not save, Octavius relinquished his control back to Parker and sacrificed himself for the greater good, admitting that Peter was, and will always be the one true Spider-Man.

Shortly upon his return to his rightful role as The Amazing Spider-Man (relaunching the title with a new #1), Peter receives a Code Omega distress signal from the Avengers (despite his recent actions) signaling an end of the world scenario.

Someone shot The Watcher.

The murder is quickly traced back to B-list villains, Orb and Exterminatrix, who upon being pinned down, activate one of Uatu's extracted eyes as a bomb. The result released deep, dark secrets witnessed by The Watcher upon the heroes to devastating and life altering effects.

For Peter Parker, the eye of Uatu revealed that he was not alone. The spider that bit him and granted the power and responsibility of Spider-Man also claimed a second victim. A young woman by the name of Cindy Moon.

How will Cindy fit into the Marvel U and whee has she been hiding? More importantly, who has been keeping her secret and how will Peter find her? Will she be Friend or Foe? Find out monthly in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man #4-5 (2014)!
