Final Disney Movies of 2014

With the calendar quickly flipping its way through 2014 the magic factory that is Walt Disney Pictures still has a couple tricks up its sleeve. It starts with a classic tale straight out of a childrens novel, moves to a comic adaptation, and then finally transforms a broadway play into an epic on screen adventure.

Coming to theatres October 10th is Disney's version of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Most people will remember this story from the Judith Viorst children's novel about a little boy who who just can't catch a break. He loses his favorite marble down the drain for cripes sakes! The movie rendition will now see Alexander's entire family having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. The slapstick seems to be cranked to 11 as we bear witness to the worst day ever. Starring Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner as the parents.

The next movie in the lineup is Big Hero 6. It's release date on November 7th can't come fast enough. The next installment from the high caliber studio that brought us Wreck It Ralph and Frozen brings us to the future in the city of San Fransokyo. It introduces us to robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada and his loveable robot Baymax. Hiro uncovers a villainous plot and from there is recruited by the government, along with 5 other would-be heroes, to save the city.

Finally Disney will bring the much loved Stephen Sondheim broadway musical to life on the big screen. Disney went all out and brought together a star studded cast to do so. Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, Chris Pine, and Meryl Streep to be exact. The story follows a mashup of all the the beloved Brothers Grimm fairytale characters as a witch conspires to teach them all a lesson.

Looking into the future of Disney films is even more promising as we get some live action remakes in the form of Cinderella and Jungle Book as well as blockbuster destroyers such as Star Wars Episode VII. However the remainder of 2014 looks very promising as we get three movies that look to wow audiences looking for some awesome family entertainment in these upcoming months.
