Rocket And Groot Go Big With LEGO® At SDCC

It's no secret that Marvel's latest cinematic venture, Guardians of the Galaxy, is the studios riskiest move to date. With a roster of heroes virtually unknown to the general public including The Legendary Star-Lord, Gamora and Drax the Destroyer, the stakes may seem high. However, as fans of the iconic series (myself included) can tell you, Guardians has all the potential for a great action/sci-fi epic, which is only further enhanced by it's most unique members, Rocket and Groot. 

Promoting the August 1 release, LEGO recently created a life-size 7ft tall model featuring both Rocket and Groot from over 28,000 bricks, which will be featured at the LEGO booth during next week's SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con). Clocking in at 350 design and assembly hours, LEGO hopes that these life-size Guardians will help inspire everyone to design, create and build.     

In addition to the life-size model, Rocket will also be featured as part of his own limited edition set - Rocket's Warbird - exclusively available to SDCC and limited to 1000 units, capped at 250 per day, retailing for $39.99.
