R+L=J

R+L=J

From the first moment we are introduced to Jon Snow in George R. R. Martin's fantasy epic 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series, A Game Of Thrones, the reader is made aware that Jon is the bastard child of Eddard Stark.

Upon Jon's departure from Winterfell to join the Night's Watch, Ned makes a promise that they will discuss his mother the next time they meet, however, as we all know, that opportunity never arises.

So who is the mother of Jon Snow? Is she really the tavern wench you as the reader are currently lead to believe, or was she someone more?

One of the most popular and widely accepted fan theories regarding Jon's lineage might just be on to something.

The main evidence and speculation are outlined in the video below, however please note that although this is strictly fan theory, spoilers may be present. Maybe.

  1. If you read the books and pay close attention, it becomes very obvious what the truth of the matter is. The biggest clue being Ned's dream sequence of the events that took place at the tower of joy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9Mp8MzAjAY
